At 130 km/h I consume roughly double. But regarding the topic at hand, cruising at 100 on the highway instead of 130 or, worse, 180/200 will absolutely consume less gas per km. At those speeds, air resistance is the biggest consumption hit, so…

  • @fmarini@mastodon.social @helge@mastodon.social @finestructure@mastodon.social Also, this is mostly speaking from ignorance, but I’m mostly talking about limits of 70 mph/115 km/h being mostly good for safety, but not quite “there” when it comes to better fuel economy for cars with big engines. I genuinely get better mileage (kilometerage?) driving closer to 90mph / 140 km/h, but that only gets worse if I go faster, not that I realistically _would_ go much faster though, because again, too fast? (how fast are normal people actually going?)
