Just finished the 16 episode 2025 cDrama limited series sci-fi thriller *Mobius* starring the always excellent Bai Jingting. It’s a current day science fiction mindbender that deserves a larger international viewership. It’s available on both Netflix and Rakuten Viki. Set in modern day Macau, and filmed in Macau, Hong Kong and Guandong, it’s a stylish, smart high concept, high end production that keeps the viewer engaged until the final scene. The sci-fi scenario combined with Bai Jingting in an action role and the location sold me on giving it a try. Absolutely did not disappoint — I think that the international crowd-sourced ratings undersell the show, likely because the romantic subplot is really secondary. Here’s the Wikipedia plot scenario: Detective Ding Qi accidentally gains the ability to time travel five times a day. These are not infinite loops, each cycle resets at midnight, and everyone loses all memory of previous iterations, except for a select few who retain all their memories. Ding Qi leverages the first four iterations to gather clues and evidence, enabling him to prevent crimes by the final loop.
