@richpuchalsky@mastodon.social I think about this more and more. On the one hand, we have vastly more information now than has ever existed before. On the other hand, it's increasingly corrupted, and therefore useless. History may end up being vague on just what happened over the last 30 or 40 years.

  • @Steve@social.coop @richpuchalsky@mastodon.social we already had the problem of having moved to electronic recordkeeping without having figured out good archiving practices for electronic records; now we’ve added the problem that most of the electronic records we have are slop. Yeah, historians are going to have a hard time
