The list so far, to give a rough idea of "near NYC": Far Rockaways (in the city is still near the city)Floyd Bennett Field via the Belt Parkway (ditto)Bear Mountain State Park via Peekskill (nice twisty bit of highway)Bellvale via NYS Route 17AMontauk Point lighthouse maybe? I've been repeatedly warned that the Long Island Expressway is miserable with traffic but you could just... not take the expressway?Greenport (other side of the Long Island "fork")
