I believe Voodoo cards were the first 3D graphics accelerators as we think of them today, at least for PCs[1]. I seem to recall that *maybe* nvidia coined the term GPU? I know they weren’t called that at the start. [1] #SiliconGraphics was doing fancy stuff way before PCs of course
