@futuresprog@mastodon.nzoss.nz and if someone doesn't have 'ideological differences' with Big Tech... that person hasn't been paying attention 😎 - but thanks, yeah, seems like there's never been a better time. The digital tech Overton Window has shifted, I reckon. We'll have a bunch of distros on hand (Ventoy, donchaknow) but I strongly lean towards Debian-based options. We'll also be able to download others if, for example, someone turns up with a Mac, wanting to try Asahi Linux...

Nice one. It is perfect timing, what with a recent Windows update getting yanked because it was disastrously bad. I usually push first timers towards Mint (which is Ubuntu derived, from Debian) although recently I’ve toyed with Bazzite and Bluefin (Fedora-derived). Has Liquid Glass pissed off enough Mac users that they’ll want Asahi Linux??? @lightweight@mastodon.nzoss.nz
