@lain@lain.com @sofia@chaos.social in general i also assume the product is worse. but thanks to flexispot i atleast know i can buy a height-adjustable desk frame and put my own wooden top onto it. i wont buy a flexispot bc i assume they are overpriced influencer bullshit^^

@lain@lain.com @grillchen@brot.eus @sofia@chaos.social the problem with advertising is not an aesthetic trashiness, it's that the advertiser's main incentive is to manipulate me into spending resources I otherwise wouldn't this goal is the same whether or not the ad "is hitting" I spend so much effort avoiding ads not because I think they don't work on me, but because nobody is immune to propaganda
