yeah i don't want to speak too confidently on the new user experience, because i'm really not. But i also find the difficulty of just using emacs somewhat overstated.
(though i think all these 'starter' frameworks that get recommended ironically reinforce the impression of difficulty by layering so much complexity on).

@einsiedlerspiel@todon.nl @Alejandro_P@mathstodon.xyz it's been 2-3 years that I went back to using vim as my only editor, after a long stretch with Atom/vscode (and my vim proficiency before that was never high, and still isn't). I re-learned the basics with the vimtutor and then little by little learned more on "per need", same for enabling/using plugins. Imho a lot easier that way instead of feeling like one needs the 100 layers of complexity one _could_ do on day one!
