This is first and foremost, Trump cannot legally hold power past 2028, but won't leave power peacefully unless he dies in his sleep from a heart attack or a stroke. If THAT happens, Vance probably would not have the kind of support it takes to launch a successful coup attempt after defeat in the 2028 election. That could result in a return to the status quo ante, a "merchant's democracy" of the rich. Otherwise, Trump does J6 II and this time around may well succeed. At that point US "democracy" formally ends and the warming civil war probably goes all the way hot. This could mean blue states seceding, communities defended by local militias, the works. That could completely trash the economy expecially if state border controls go up in response to secessions.
