Idk, I personally don't find it hard to believe cruel and warlike individuals can also be caring and considerate of disabled people 🤷♀️ People are complex and situational, after all, and no one in real life is all good or all bad. I guess a lot of white people (or “White Eyes” as Apache groups called them) were/are too inundated in racism and a flat good vs. evil worldview to apply that kind of nuance to Indigenous people.
