@IndyRichard@mastodon.scot My heart is bound to Scotland, but I'm also a realist and I think it was a huge error, or maybe overweening ambition, for James VI to accept the English throne as James I. The two nations at that time were too culturally dissimilar to have much chance of success. But hindsight is a wonderful thing.
