- Masses of cognitive and computational neuroscientists are giddy about what’s happening - I’m privileged to have been around them casually and get to sneak into their conferences. Their research, that’s suddenly attracting a lot more funding than it used to, will not slow down in the near future. - The people love AI too, as ‘ChatGPT’ lives on the same plane as ‘Google’ in the public consciousness already. - Of course we all know how LinkedIn feels about AI. For the business folk it is the invisible hand’s most exciting recent wild card, and they are ready to play. - Finally, nobody seriously expects regulatory bodies to step in. I suspect it would take a Chernobyl-level disaster with a data centre for anything to restrict the hardware side of AI proliferation in any meaningful way.
