cyberpunk ass short story where the data center rents out a massive chunk of memory to some client who mysteriously keeps it occupied for a long time but never writes to the vast majority of it. so the data center tries to save some money, allocating that memory only on write and being able to rent it out to other people? well, they somehow know and demand the full access to the memory pool they paid for. they could somehow tell every time the data center tried to cut corners. for some reason, that memory had to be absolutely reserved in actuality.. medium didn't matter spoiler it's some undisclosed quantum effect that has like deeper geopolitical implications and on and on standard cyberpunk shit
