@Sheril@mastodon.social Mary Doria Russel wrote the forward for the modern print of A Canticle for Lebowitz. She discusses the difference between regular writing and "literature". The difference for her is just that: literature changes you when you read it. You're not the same person when you are done. I wasn't after reading hers.
It's worth reading yourself, as is the book it forwards that definitely qualifies as literature.
