@missingno@social.vivaldi.net @TechieNotNetie@social.vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net every user agent string starts with "Mozilla/5.0". It started as a work around for sites checking it incorrectly, and unfortunately became the permanent solution. It's now expected.

  • @gothpanda@pandapla.net That is not correct. Opera back in the days didn't do it, more exotic browsers (Lynx) don't do it. Yes, it started because sites did checks to serve different HTML code to different browsers (which is wrong by itself), messing with browsers that would have worked fine with the "Mozilla"-code. It is *not* expected. Like I said, any website that still does this kind of thing is pretty much outdated by decades and should be fixed.
