@Hesperalis@mastodon.social That is good news. My near plot neighbour had no problems with hers this spring either. She covers hers all the time with enviromesh.
I will give leeks a go this year. I haven’t grown leeks on a plot for years because of allium leaf miner.

@Broadfork@mastodon.green @Hesperalis@mastodon.social something I tried, which worked quite well at avoiding alium leaf miners - Belgian giant leeks from Real Seeds, started late and harvested early, then chopped and frozen for use through winter

@Broadfork@mastodon.green These were grown in the fruit cage of Mr Ms new plot. Not that that would keep out the fly. It's not many years we get clean allium crops. Leeks are cheap to buy but shop bought don't have the flavour intensity or that "squeaky" sensation when you pull them😄
