one time when I was talking about a video I saw about Moldova, someone commented “I rarely see people know about my country”. Moldova is on Ukraine’s southwestern border (so opposite of the Russian side). It’s mostly impoverished rural backwater, and its city is in decay from the soviet era.

Absolutely incredible candy comes out of moldova. Damn does that country have an amazing confectionery culture.
