As someone who did just that, it’s all about perspective: balding is a condition; bald is a choice.

This! I’d much prefer to have a full head of hair, but since that’s not an option, I prefer to be bald rather than visibly balding 🤷 (And getting surgery for this would feel excessive. Not to mention the transplanted hair would just start balding too because of the same hormones that caused balding in the first place, so it’s just putting off the inevitable.)
