@richpuchalsky@mastodon.social I agree but I think there are a couple of aspects to it:
- in general, whether or not you have your basic needs met should not be tied to whether or not you work
- the reason why a lot of people currently feel like they _need_ a good paying manufacturing job is because we've made education private and expensive, so people don't have the option to switch into a service job if they didn't go to school
- manufacturing jobs should pay well anyway (see point 1)
