Well, eBay's good for checking the value of these things. (and knowing that Kenner is the company that made the figures from the 70s through to the 90s might be a help for doing that kind of research!)
Are there any flea markets/swap meets/car boot sales/yard sale days where he might be able to sell them? Or any businesses/malls with community pinboards where he could put a printed out ad flyer for people to reach out to him?

@Euan@speedlines.stctp.zone nothing like that of any useable size in our regional town. The internet is best bet for convenience, though he's a wanderer so he might visit a capital city sometime and look for markets there.
