@cienmilojos@infosec.exchange Just to play devil's advocate, You can scan faces and gather data from those faces, but if you're not saving information unique to that face, you can technically call it not-facial-recognition. For example, if I set up a camera at a bookstore connected to a raspi that scans faces as they come in, stores a hash of face data in RAM, and at the end of the day saves a single number (unique_faces_seen_today) in a DB and wipes the facial recognition hashes, is it really facial recognition? But yeah, Meta hella evil. If our asleep-at-the-wheel government isn't going to regulate these bastard reptilloids, we need to seriously stop using them.
