Well this is sad news to me. On June 22, CHU -- the Canadian shortwave radio time signal broadcast -- will cease operation. I discovered CHU as a kid when I first started listening to shortwave radio many, many years ago. It's always been there.
It's the end of an era.

@dennishoward@mstdn.social BBC Radio on Long Wave ends in June too. On 198 kHz & formerly on 200kHz, it did close during WWII (1939-1945). It's what happens when broadcasting is run by bookkeepers.
