I have a habit of freezing leftovers in a glass dish and then topping them with mashed potatoes to make a cottage pie type thing. It's always tasty but usually I can't be bothered to make mash so often I'll make more than I need for one meal and freeze the mash on top of the already frozen leftovers. Well, I didn't have any topped stuff ready and I couldn't be arsed to make mash, but I had some shop-bought garlicky gratin and I used that on top of some beef stew and omg it's good. 😋
