On Friday I had an unplanned lunch at the Hayfield Manor here in Cork while my dog was getting emergency IV fluids and drugs. It was confirmation day, so it was busy, and like fancy busy. Every single woman over the age of 40 had hair dyed exactly the same shade of blonde. My thoughts were: first of all can we please get some fucking toner in the house? Second of all I thought needing to look like each other with something we got over by the time we were 25.
