It depends... IMDAY is inspired by the German DIDAY-Initiative. Since DIDAY does not contain a recipe for federated messengers, the goal of IMDAY is to fill this gap and offer simple recipes for this use case.
That's why there is one recipe for each operating system listed (even when there are a lot more options out there).

@eversten@social.anoxinon.de while I am a fan of XMPP it feels disengenous to try to tell people it's a solution to a problem that it's not the only solution for and since there are a lot of different platforms that are open and people might be on trying to say there's one app for each OS feels sorta pointless tbh
