@davew@mastodon.online @davidgerard@circumstances.run @tagomago@mastodon.social @stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe ABSOLUTELY correct. Microsoft is how many billions of dollars invested in on this to have made $20-30 million from Copilot altogether? Like... Yeah, this bubble is gonna pop and it independently is gonna trigger a recession. OpenAI is still maintaining itself as a non-profit, which means any investor money put into them is going to either: - Be treated as a donation 🤓 - Turn into high interest loans that OpenAI is gonna have to figure out paying back in short order - All the while asking for more and more money to continue their engine of non-profitability, with the goal post moving further and further out. From a few billion to hundreds of billions to asking for trillions in investment - With the proposed solution for AI slopping up the net and making it harder to differentiate between bot and human by leveraging *checks notes* blockchain? (World Coin is Sam Altman's second line of business next to OpenAI, if you want an idea of where we are headed) We, the end users of these monopolist tech stacks, are ultimately not the target customer for LLMs/genAI. Rather, CEOs and the managerial class are. And what they're being sold is Hype and FOMO, with no tangible gains to be had from it. Not that many of them are able to tell the difference. 🫠
