Don't eat #garlic; eat the leaves and scapes. You will have an infinite supply of garlic leaves and garlic scapes over time. Elephant garlic will soon die out and become dormant. Before its dormancy due to the hot dry weather in the PNW, it will start producing a scape that will start to flower in mid summer. But elephant garlic is a hybrid that does not produce fertile seeds. Eating its scape doesn't stop it from multiplying underground. #plants #permaculture #naturalfarming
