@sofia@chaos.social Uh huh. Even after taking the time to think about it, I think I'd press blue. I don't know if I'd choose differently if it was real life and I might actually die, but I see it like this: You would only pick blue for one of two reasons: to die, or to stop others from dying. On one hand, I do believe in the right to die. It's not my place to tell a stranger how good their life "really" is if they haven't asked me. Consequently, I can't stop them from ending their life if they've determined that it's not worth living anymore and I have no evidence to the contrary. However, I imagine that the vast majority of people pressing blue do want to live, and are pressing it for the second reason, to stop people from dying. The Nitter poll seems to confirm this. I can't imagine most, or even much, of the 58% that picked blue are suicidal. They don't want to die, so I should try to save them. Blue it is. Of course, one thing that might change my answer is if humanity had time to talk about our choices. If we all decided that the blue button should be treated as a suicide pod, I would stop assuming that a significant amount of blue pickers want to live. In such a case, I would pick red.
