It got late and I didn’t follow this up. The installation worked. Everything worked. It ended up on Debian #Forky / Sid, I believe because there’s no official release of #Debian for #PPC, so it tracks the latest unstable. Nothing to compile, it all just worked. It's the first device in the house to run kernel 6.19, and it's 26 years old!
