@lolcat@digipres.club the last time I was there, downtown Miami had a lot of WEIRD SHIT. It was glorious. There were all these areas where adjoining office buildings and stuff had enclosed their alleyways and turned them into shopping malls, places where you could walk right from one of those into private offices, at least one bizarro glass tube corridor that took you under an expressway (Knight Center Metromover station to the James L. Knight Center)
meanwhile downtown Sac is just hostile :(

@vxo@digipres.club You've given me hope that kids still ask themselves what's on the other side of that door, then go on to see for themselves. Never would have guessed Miami was a productive hunting ground (tbh, my mental image of Miami is pretty bad, and probably unfair). Was just discussing with a friend how the digital transition has, sadly, curtailed lots of opportunity for fun - no more clipping into phone lines in unwatched wiring closets, etc. Maybe I'm projecting and kids still play.
