Alas, haven't seen any so am unsure of the correct context to say/use. 😀
As an Albertan, I'd lean into words like dealing with an avalanche, except my understanding is that survival options in that metaphor are pretty slim.
So despite being landlocked, I think the better metaphor is presently attempting to tread water long enough to catch a few breaths at the surface and otherwise desperatly hoping for some flotsam to drift by so I can cling to it for a bit of rest/recharge and safety. 😱😛

@likelyjanlukas@mstdn.ca Yeah, in several Asian countries, “Fighting” means you should keep on keeping on. Just stay focused on survival in the hope of better times ahead.
