But even then, he had already appointed Jared Kushner into his cabinet, so lets not pretend it wasn't obvious where he stood. Even before that, he leaned more democrat than republican. Trump largely won because of anti-immigrant rhetoric, and he continues to have support from wignats who agree with what he is doing to terrorize anyone deemed an immigrant after scaring off the conservatives who suddenly feel morality inclined to stop supporting him now.
