I wanted to tell the story of how I ended up cancelling my Der Standard subscription. Several years ago when I subscribed I've done so for a few different reasons: supporting quality journalism, getting more up-to-date on austrian public discourse, and to help with extending my german knowledge. For a longer time this was okay, but recently I've had the feeling that the journalistic aspect isn't so pronounced as it was even a few years ago.
