This paper has been in the works for a long time (2021), and I’m happy for it to finally see the light of day. This is the research idea that sent me down the rabbit hole of learning more about Bayesian statistics and causal inference, and McElreath's Rethinking content in particular.

Libraries need to develop the ability to analyze bibliometric data, estimate output, and engage on a more equal footing with publishers. We hope this will be another tool to use any negotiations.
