Finally, I think and speak like a #lawyer - I discard narrative and focus on facts. That can make others feel invalidated or unvalued when they were expecting sympathy or empathy. It’s also apparently a hard thing to do for most people, since I’m told that, apart from all the reading and pressure to perform, the hardest part of law school is learning to think precisely and in detail to understand facts before carefully applying logic to form an opinion and communicate it effectively.

All of this tells me that, while there are some things I could do to make others around me more comfortable, there’s nothing wrong with me and I don’t need to change if I don’t want to. If anything, I have the opposite problem to most allistic people. There are advantages to the way I think and communicate - it’s efficient and effective when facts are important. I just don’t do well with social and/or emotional communication styles (unless it’s poetry, oddly enough). I’m fine just as I am.
