@paniash@mstdn.social i use devil-mode, which is vanilla-er than meow. i've also used meow, boon, and xah-fly-keys. for me it wasn't just the key bindings themselves being unsupported by add-on packages - it was that there were major modes where the modality itself was screwed up, and e.g. i couldn't type a letter 'x' in a vc changelog message because it was almost but not quite in insert mode. Maybe I wasn't sufficiently init-bankrupt before trying it? Anyway I've been pretty happy with devil-mode for a few years now
