@Iloo@mastodon.social Oiysh sounds like a beautiful boat with a lot of memories! It’s always a bit bittersweet to move on, but a proa sounds like such an exciting adventure. I’ve always been fascinated by how they shunt. What made you finally decide to make the switch to a proa?

@rudy_paul200@mastodon.social @rudy_paul200@mastodon.social Yes on one hand it feels like we're 'cheating' on Oiysh, but also she deserves someone fully committed :) The idea to switch has been slowly growing ever since we started learning about them, they are simply a superior design in every way (efficiency, speed, upwind abilities, load distribution etc) but I think the final drop was when we built our dinghy and actually got to play with it on a smaller scale :)
