The article is very superficial and seems to be just a headline grab and an attempt to "both sides" the discussion.
What worries me more is that people actually use things like Apple News to aggregate and amplify content based on what it thinks it knows about you.

Pushing absolute trash… I only use it because it’s already paid for and gives (some access) to stuff I’d never pay for but sometimes should read like the Toronto star… that and my bad habit of posting sad screencaptures from it.
