There are alot of reasons newspapers had sections. Prioritizing, segmenting, filtering, and more. When I was a kid, I always started with the sports section, everything else was an afterthought. Build the Mastodon you want. Here are some of my list topics: Arts Activism Economics, Poli Sci, and Law Infosec Melton Key figures (I prune this list occassionally when it gets too large)
