@nick@bath.social From my own personal experience: focus on the community relationships first and foremost. Let the tech work be an almost-afterthought. It's much harder to end up getting quietly taken advantage of (even by sheer accident) when we're regularly communicating, setting boundaries, and navigating consent and transparency with each other. It's an approach that's outside the comfort zone for many, but if you're not confident about doing this already, I promise learning the skills will do more for your tech work than anything else you could try to pick up.
