Unbelievably useful. But the grifters are making promises that cannot be kept. We programmers are finding the limits, and working with them Listen to us. Also Adafruit is apparently Tor-phobic, shows how much they care about user privacy or agency. Why would you give this crazy AI access to your shell? But you know what? We’re living in amazing times. "But you know what, let's not think about the security implications of arbitrary code execution lmao" is not what I consider a convincing argument. In fact it's enough of an argument to refuse to use it at all on its own. Not to mention this means stuff gets executed before you have any chance to audit it. I’m driving the car, but I have this co-pilot that’s telling me where to go. So we do it together. No, from the sound of it you're basically blindfolded, telling the copilot where you want to go, listening to the copilot's descriptions and hoping he's not bringing you to an organ chopshop. So now you launch Claude after you’ve done the NPM install and it’s like, hi, I’m here, I’m ready. Ah yes, sweet unaudited dependency nightmares (more arbitrary execution risks), just like we love⸮ I didn't think I'd be less convinced to use it coming out of reading that as a result of side-effects & requirements not central to the thing, but here we are. I'm going to leave this here for other readers. It is taking many existing problematic workflows and compounding them.
