They don't want _working_ energy storage. That's why there are so many fairy dust projects like nuclear fusion. And on the other hand, there are well-proven established techniques like heat pumps, PV panels, Lithium batteries, electric cars, high voltage DC power lines, and [seasonal heat storage](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_thermal_energy_storage). Which should be built and used at a large scale because they work - but aren't.

sure they do, why do you think they're [buying](https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Big-Oil-is-Quietly-Investing-in-the-Lithium-Revolution.html) lithium mines? they love mining resources because it encourages the "infinite growth" feedback loop to keep going
