@jrose@social.belkadan.com thread_locals are slow on arm64 with MacOS! There's a MUCH bigger difference with GCC15 and Clang21 between statics and thread locals, and some general re-shuffling of performance categories in general on amd64 Windows:

@thephd@pony.social So on the one hand what I said was true and there was a difference, on the other it basically didn’t affect the qualitative results. Well, good to be sure!
