Shown here is the spillway on the other side of the channel (channel in progress still in this image) planted to oats, vetch, field peas, and tilling radish. The spillways will be most effective if held by perennial grass roots, but the soil underneath will be benefitted by a bit of decompaction and root matting in the meantime while I forage another season's worth of native grass seeds to sow.
