@briangeiger This is a beautiful essay. Thank you for sharing it. When my daughter was little and would complain, "I'm bored," I used to say, "Only boring people are bored." Which was sort of pompous, but I wanted her to find her own inner resources or just enjoy being for a while, as in your essay. Then she got a smartphone, and . . . <sigh>
