@HauntedOwlbear@eldritch.cafe am sure the manufacturers' official excuse is something along the line of Bluetooth standards not offering some simple way to do synchronization (there is nothing like "PTP over Bluetooth") and therefore music sounds weird when broadcast to multiple receivers which don't support the same proprietary extensions.
(which would actually not be a hard requirement to share music on _headsets_. But "lock-in / network effect" are to too juicy profit sources)

@dryak@mstdn.science @HauntedOwlbear@eldritch.cafe auracast and bluetooth meshd make this possible with any bluetooth 5 devices. its all managed by the player so its OS or device dependent but auracast transmitters are pretty cheap
