Not everyone is expected to. That’s democratic. If next week I were to kick in €10k, I would be doing so only to help those who can’t contribute to the care and feeding of my instance. That’s democratic. If I kicked in €10k so that my voice would be amplified and so that I could control what others see, that’s authoritarian.
