Huh, finished up Great Gatsby and it was shorter than I expected. Fitzgerald certainly did have a flair for that swell of prose which indicates to the reader "This is about America and humanity, actually," but I keep thinking about how the whole climactic murderous reckoning could have been avoided with just more use of rail transit.
