@oleksiy@sonomu.club the OSHW deck space is curiously empty indeed... i guess having decent mechanical design for the actual decks is a bit trickier than general MIDI controllers but we have those hi-res magnetic encoder ICs that mean mechanical feel and sensing are pretty decoupled

@s_ol@merveilles.town I'm not aiming at hi-end/hi-res stuff (at least now), something simple with budget off the shelf components would be a good start. that aurora "mixer" looks more or less like what I have in mind, but it's like 18 years old, and based on PIC MCU that I know nothing about. I think something like RPi Pico, STM32 or ESP32 would be much better fit for it today
