If this was an event openly addressing the obscenity of grant-funding through transparently advertising people how to game a system which obviously doesn’t value or care about curiosity or deeply intellectual engagement, I would be on board. But I suspect that coaches and trainees alike believe they are actually engaging in research.

@tillgrallert@digitalcourage.social @felwert@fedihum.org @ElenLeFoll@fediscience.org @ErikJonker@mastodon.social I think this development will also make it much harder to get funding for projects that originated "conventially" (that is, human-made) because of the sheer mass of generated funding applications that will be submitted (as we see with the publication market at the moment). I would lie if I said I don't feel increasing resignation every day (implying that I don't have an idea how to counter that that goes beyond trying to resist where I can)
